Beach Grass - (Ammophila breviligulata)

Requires a sunny position in a light well-drained soil. Very tolerant of severe maritime exposure. The plant has a deep, strong and extensively creeping rhizome, it can become invasive when growing in suitable conditions.

Seed - sow spring in a greenhouse and only just cover the seed. When large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and grow them on in the greenhouse for their first winter. Plant them out in late spring or early summer.

Coastal sand dunes.
